Strength Haven is a one of a kind gym. I’ve been to several gyms in the area and actually had to leave a local gym after experiencing their extreme fatphobia. I stumbled across Strength Haven and it was meant to be. If you’re looking for an inclusive and empowering space to challenge yourself physically and mentally, this is the best place in the greater New Haven area to do that. I recommend this place to all of my friends because of the awesome coaches and great community. Very grateful we have this special space right in the heart of New Haven.

I was in New Haven for a few months last year and joined the 6am crew -- they are awesome, kind, committed coaches! They know their stuff! I had a really great experience, and the other gym-goers were cool too. Highly recommend!

This gym stands out as a truly exceptional fitness environment. The atmosphere is both supportive and invigorating, fostering a sense of community among members. The coaches are undoubtedly the heart of this gym. Their ability to provide individualized attention, even in large classes, is impressive. They offer constructive feedback, challenging members to reach their potential while ensuring proper form and preventing injuries. The coaching style is motivating without being overbearing, creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Workouts are designed to be accessible to all fitness levels while still offering sufficient challenge. The coaches effectively adapt exercises to accommodate different abilities, ensuring everyone feels supported and included. This inclusive approach is commendable and contributes significantly to the overall positive experience.

Strength Haven has been my favorite part of living in New Haven (and the best way to make friends). I have never been healthier or more confident, and this gym has played such a massive role. Prior to joining, I’d never really touched weights, but I tried a powerlifting mock meet recently! In each class, coaches were happy to talk me through every movement in class and help me find scaling options as I built up strength. This isn’t the kind of gym where scaling is discouraged. Coaches Haggerty, Natasha, Steph, and Torrie have been so supportive over the past year. I’ll miss seeing their faces in the morning as I move out of the area.

Couldn’t be happier here. Once you find your tribe. Stick with them! The coaches I’ve been working with for year previous, and when they started this new space, BEST BELIEVE, I had to join. The community at this gym is amazing - inclusive of everyone, regardless of ability or intensity or identity. I’d never been to a gym where everyone knows each other. Every single coach I’ve taken a class with is awesome and always willing to think of adaptations when needed. I know they’re expanding soon and will diversify their classes a bit more too. My 11 year old son attended a youth workout session and absolutely loved it! He enjoyed all the different moves, got to use some cool equipment and left feeling strong and confident! Facility is clean, well equipped and coaches are very helpful and patient with the youngsters. He’s looking forward to the next one.
